PitcherPlant is harrowing. A dark world where children are rendered frightening, dogs growl, a mournful cornet wails in the distance, eno-fied distorted punk noise on the track Punk Band while a psychotic operatic atmosphere commands the echo-laden On the Inside. You'll sense the mark of 23 Skidoo, Psychic TV, Tuxedomoon, Clock DVA, SPK et al but this is no trip down some industrial memory lane - the tracks have components that date from that era of artpop dissonance remixed into a bricolage of pungent sticky noise.
